The People Pleaser’s First Aid Kit for Christmas
The festive season is fast approaching, and along with it come multiple demands from loved ones, family, and friends.
It’s impossible to make everyone happy. But when you have people-pleasing tendencies, it’s even harder to remember your own needs in the face of other people’s.
When we’re neurodivergent, advocating for our needs comes with additional challenges.
We may feel driven to make people happy as over-compensation for our perceived “flaws” of disorganisation, high sensitivity, or inability to pick up signals.
Or we may be so empathetic that we can’t separate out what we feel from those around us.
Or we may be so sensitive to rejection that we’re unable to put someone through what, for us, would be an excruciating experience.
In this Community Gathering, positive psychology practitioner and writer Anya Pearse MAPP will explore why we people-please and take you through exercises to help you remember yourself during this time of focusing on others.
Give yourself the gift of more self-presence this festive season!

Donate What You Can
This event is a donation based event. Feel free to add whatever amount feels right for you in joining this session. We are going to start a mutual aid campaign (details are still being worked on) to provide much needed support for our ND community members from marginalised communities.
